I built a Mastering Studio

Hey everyone. I’ve been really busy with the album, and another project I’ve secretly been working on. It’s taken me a few years to save up for this, but now it’s finally ready. I’ve built a mastering studio with amazing gear, and I am now mastering albums, EPs, singles, and other audio projects. For the next few months, I’ll be doing it completely free to get the momentum flowing. If you’re a band, producer, or musician working on a project, hit me up and get your music mastered for free through some top-of-the-line gear.

Here’s the mastering website. If you want me to do a project, hit me up on the “Contact” page:
http://breakpointmastering.com

And now that I’ve gotten the studio setup, it’s time to get on some podcasts as well. I’m totally OCD when it comes to new projects and go 100% in, so I’ve put the podcasts off way too long.

Phonographique – Heady Hip-hop Beats From Up North

Check this label out – Phonographique.  They just came out with a new release by Vancouver’s mikedecline.  As stated by the label-head, Ryan, “This 13-track instrumental album is the next step forward into Vancouver’s ever evolving beat scene and has Mike incorporating the vocal talents of Ashleigh Eymann and the turntable domination of K-Rec.”

This one is really nice on the headphones with some herbal… tea. Good head-noddin’ beats, solid classic scratching, and various chopped samples and vocals are the order of the day.

Berry Weight – “Music For Imaginary Movies”

As stated on their website:

Berry Weight is a soulful electro-organic-space-jazz duo, harmonizing storybook-like melodies and cinematic atmospheres. Sounds are brought to you by instrumentalists/producers/DJs : Apewok & Stab from Canada and Switzerland, occasionally to be accompanied by Danish singer-Astrid Engberg and French clarinetist-Kledsy Jy. They’re taking matters into their own hands in the wake of the supernova-like disintegration transition of the music industry as we know it.

These guys make beautiful, jazzy, downtempo.  Turntablism meets live jazz and chopped breaks.  Clarinet, electric pianos, dusty samples, and laid back grooves make for a perfect Sunday coffee vibe.  Get this album.  You can always tell when certain musicians do exactly what they want to do for the love of it.  This is one of those groups.

Been a while..

Hey all,

First of all, I just want to give a HUGE thanks to all that have supported my newest release from THE NEW LAW, “The Fifty Year Storm”.  This was our 3rd album, and it was done all independently from beginning to finish.  The only reason it is spreading is because of the fans.  You guys are amazing.

Secondly, I’m going to get cracking on the podcasts again.  It’s been a while, and I’ll have more time now that the album is out.  So keep an eye out.  For now, check out this recent release from Switchstance Recordings from Cologne, Germany.  You might recognize the label from the Ancient Astronauts releases.  Organic saturated breaks, funk, and samples galore all over the album.  The album is mixed and produced with amazing clarity as well.

A certified soul and sound searcher in his own right, producer Ingo Moell in his guise as Kabanjak has
long been taking the role of the experienced cinematic soundsmith at Switchstance Recordings. His
music invites you to lean back mentally and let yourself go physically. In the songs and tracks of
Kabanjak lies great admiration for the classic film composers and library music masters of the Sixties
and Seventies as well as for the works of modern electronica producers.

A true studio native, Kabanjak is known to spend many hours jamming, recording and cutting epic tracks, refining them to shimmering perfection. And while the musical moods of Kabanjak may be grand and cinematic, his grooves are as down-to-earth as they come and known for having the ability to rock dancefloors far and wide. His colourful first artist album „Tree of Mystery“ was picked up by ESL Music for a worldwide release in 2010
