Here’s a brand new album of old Dday One beats that have recently been restored. It has some serious sample-based beats that sound along the lines of old Shadow Records stuff. Actually, it sounds a lot like Hive’s “Working With Sound” album, which is one of my favorite albums of all time. It’s really that good. Get it.

This project of early-works was originally circulated as a cassette, limited to 20 copies.

Recently, it was restored using modern audio restoration and preservation techniques.
This process involved digitizing material from 4-track, 3.5” floppy disc and one of the surviving tapes.

The title “Mood Algorithms” reflects the compositional process in which beats were created with inspiration from daily moods. The cover art, created by British designer Oliver Cartwright (www.olivercartwright.com), illustrates the sequence of these moods which are represented by the array of vivid colors.

I’ll be playing some shows in the next month.  The first one is a Halloween show as THE NEW LAW in Tacoma, WA.  It’s a live show, and we now have a drummer in the band: my younger brother Steve.  He’s originally a punk drummer, but he’s a big fan of THE NEW LAW, so he’s joining our live gigs.  The flyer is below.  We’re dressing up as the Three Amigos, with giant sparkly sombreros and all.  It’ll be the scariest outfit there.

Next up is a DJ gig for the next NOD YOUR HEAD Podcast.  This will be in Seattle on Nov. 4.  The set will be Podcast #9.  The crew booking it is a DnB crew, but they’re down with all types of music.  I’ll be laying all styles of beats down trying my hardest to keep them guessing what’s next.

And in other news….  THE NEW LAW’s new album is getting sent to the mastering studio this week.  Boh!

German producer, Immortal Beats, has released a free album/EP for download called “Eyes Shine Bright”.  This has some serious jams.  They’re all short beats but they cause some serious head nodding.  Definitely grab this one.  I’m blasting it right now.

THE NEW LAW – “Sundown” is the background music in this new video of the PWA Worldcup in Klitmöller, Denmark.  These guys are sick.  I’m glad to be part of the video.
